Kankakee Regional Young Professionals Core Council The Kankakee Regional Young Professionals (KRYP) is an exciting division of the Kankakee Regional Chamber of Commerce. KRYP is targeted at young, upcoming business professionals between the ages of 21-39 and provides a platform for its members to meet new people with similar career goals and interests. Core Council Objectives: • Provide a platform for KRYP members and potential KRYP members to meet new people with similar career goals and interests. • Be instrumental in building a dynamic professional community in the Kankakee River Valley – help the region retain and attract people to our community through an exciting social and recreational environment, a robust economic and employment environment and a renewed sense of pride and interest in the future of the region. • Be agents of positive change in the community, guiding our community forward as it continues to evolve. • Serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Chamber on a daily basis and answer any chamber-related questions that new or potential members may have. • Assist the President and staff in distributing the monthly newsletter, special mailings and annual community publication, Images of the Kankakee River Valley. • Host monthly network programs with meaningful topics and panel speakers. • Be on the cutting edge of communications through technology – hosting conference calls, teleseminars, web seminars, email communications and podcasting. • Survey the KRYP membership regularly to assess their programming and membership benefit needs. • Review, restructure if necessary, and enhance the purpose of this committee, creating incentives for commitment to serve as Core Council members (KRYP of the Year, etc.).
