Rebecca Schatz, Payne, Groskreutz, Schmidt, Abraham & Eshleman

The Kankakee Young Professionals (KRYP) are happy to announce Rebecca Schatz of Payne, Groskreutz, Schmidt, Abraham & Eshleman Accountants and Consultants as the March Young Professional of the Month.

Rebecca has been working at the firm as a senior accountant and CPA for over six years.

Rebecca got involved with the Kankakee Regional Young Professionals about three years ago. ?The firm felt it would be a good way for its younger employees to network and gain contacts within the community. I have enjoyed being a part of the organization ever since,? she says. Rebecca became part of the KRYP Core Council in January 2009 and has taken on the role of Program Development. She hopes to provide a distinct perspective for the organization through new and exciting opportunities for growth, learning and networking.

When asked what her favorite aspect of KRYP is, Rebecca says, ?I love the KRYP program luncheons that are held on a regular basis. The diversified subjects allow everyone to learn and meet new and interesting people within the community.? 

Rebecca?s #1 networking tip for other young professionals is to network, network, network! ?Networking can be difficult, but if you start slow by reaching outside your comfort zone, as in sitting at a table of a stranger at a KRYP luncheon, the rewards can be great,?  she says.

Rebecca also knows the importance of carrying plenty of business cards wherever you go and to have as much knowledge about your business as possible. She says, ?this information is priceless when trying to network.?
